In between the course I took part in many group projects, such as ‘Events’ which involved a collaboration between various years of Manchester School of Architecture students coming together to create a proposal for a live project.
For year 1 I participated in a housing project, which focused on housing for the older generation. Within this project we held small sessions with local residents, to understand what they deemed important in a home. Through this I was able to learn how to create clear portfolios and learn how to communicate with clients.
In year 2, the Events project focused on the redevelopment of the Manchester Town Hall. The group that I worked with was allocated the redesign of the bridge link. In the group I was put in charge of curriating the portfolio, as well as creating models for the exhibition. The process strengthened my modeling skills and it taught me the many rules of developing a listed building.
